Powder Coating Plant – Autocoat Engineering

Autocoat Engineering is India’s most experienced Conveyorised Powder Coating Plant manufacturer — supplying batch and conveyorised powder coating plants on a turnkey basis since 1985. Powder coating technology has made a major impact in the finishing industry — fast replacing liquid and plated finishing. Based in Thane, Maharashtra.

About Powder Coating Plants

Powder coating technology has made a major impact in the finishing industry. The Powder Booth finish is fast replacing liquid and plated finishing for a variety of compelling reasons — environmental, economic and quality-related. A Powder Coating Plant is a broader, more precision way of handling the entire powder coating process.

Powder Coating Plants are categorised into two main areas: Batch Powder Coating Process and Continuous Powder Coating Process — also termed as Conveyorised Powder Coating Plant. Autocoat offers multi-cyclone recovery systems and a range of recovery Powder Coating Booths including cartridge-style Powder Booths and Conveyorised Powder Booths.

Autocoat Engineering has wide experience and expertise in designing and commissioning Large Powder Coating Plants in India — including Pretreatment Plants (both dipping and spray type, both conveyorised and batch type). Powder coating has also become very popular in the industry for indoor durability products. Autocoat powder coating plants can handle any type of colour or powder.

Advantages of Powder Coating

The Powder Booth finish is replacing liquid and plated finishing because of these eight distinct advantages:

🚫

No Primer Necessary

Powder Coating is a single coat process — eliminating the primer step entirely. This reduces time, material cost and process complexity compared to liquid painting systems.

👷

Less Manpower

Powder Coating gives faster production with no mixing, unskilled application technique and very little equipment maintenance — significantly reducing manpower requirements per unit.

🌿

Environmental

In Powder Coating there is no solvent content, no fumes to exhaust, cleaner shop floor, healthier labour and minimised fire hazards — making it the most environmentally responsible coating method.

Energy Savings

Powder Coating needs shorter curing schedules — just 15 minutes at 180°C. This significantly reduces energy consumption compared to conventional liquid paint curing processes.

📉

Less Rejection

There is no wet application involved — virtually eliminating paint shop rejections. Dry powder application means no runs, sags or drips during application, dramatically reducing rework.

Superior Looks

Total absence of runs, sags, drips and bubbles — giving a uniform, long-lasting finish. The electrostatic application ensures even coverage on all surfaces of the component.

😊

Satisfied Customers

The combination of superior finish, greater durability and consistent quality results in highly satisfied end customers — improving the commercial value and reputation of the finished product.

🛡️

Tough Coat

Parts receive excellent resistance to mechanical and corrosive abuse. Powder coating is far harder and more durable than equivalent liquid paint films — ideal for outdoor and industrial applications.

Types of Powder Coating Plants

Autocoat manufactures two main types of Powder Coating Plants — each suited to different production volumes and component requirements:

Batch Powder Coating Plant

Flexible batch production

Designed for batch production where components are loaded, powder coated and cured in groups — ideal for varied product sizes and medium production volumes.

  • Batch type booth with multi-cyclone recovery
  • After filter post-recovery system included
  • Powder curing oven — electrical, oil or gas fired
  • Conveyor track and trolley for material handling
  • Suitable for varied component sizes
  • Flexible colour change between batches

Conveyorised Powder Coating Plant

High-volume continuous production

A continuous production plant where components travel on an overhead conveyor through pretreatment, powder booth and curing oven — for high-volume, consistent-sized components.

  • Overhead conveyor — continuous flow
  • Spray or dip pretreatment system integrated
  • Conveyorised powder coating booth
  • Multi-cyclone powder recovery system
  • Conveyorised powder curing oven
  • Up to 5 micron dust level — air supply unit

Powder Coating Plant – Key Components

A complete Autocoat Powder Coating Plant consists of the following integrated components working in sequence:

① Powder Recovery Booth

Multi-cyclone recovery — 98% utilisation

The Powder Coated Spray Chamber with multi-cyclone recovery gives almost 98% powder utilisation. It is maintenance free and has a very long life. The powder booth is easy to clean — resulting in a quick colour change — and is safe to operate. No powder spillage out of the booth, and maximum recovery through the multi-cyclone results in pollution control.

  • 98% powder utilisation through multi-cyclone recovery
  • Maintenance free — very long service life
  • Easy to clean — quick colour change capability
  • No powder spillage out of the booth
  • Pollution control through maximum powder recovery
  • Cartridge-style and conveyorised booth options

② After Filter — Post Recovery System

Fine powder capture — pollution control

The After Filter (Post Recovery System) works after the multi-cyclone to ensure maximum utilisation of chargeable powder. Very fine powder is exhausted as per pollution control norms. A number of filter cartridges are mounted inside a sealed metallic chamber — air enters the chamber and filtration occurs from outside in. Periodic purging removes the powder and cleans the cartridge. Clean air is given out through the blower outlet.

  • Maximises utilisation of fine chargeable powder
  • Filter cartridges in sealed metallic chamber
  • Outside-in filtration for maximum capture
  • Periodic purge cleans cartridges automatically
  • Clean air exhausted through blower outlet
  • Complies with pollution control norms
