UV light is a form of radiation classified into three primary types: UVA (315–400 nm), UVB (280–315 nm) and UVC (<280 nm). As items pass through the enclosed UVC germicidal tunnel on the conveyor belt, UVC lamps emit short-wavelength ultraviolet C light (<280 nm) that is absorbed by the nucleic acids of viruses and bacteria on the surface of the items.
