About Chocolate & Cocoa Painting
Cocoa has been consumed in some form for at least 5,300 years. Chocolate or cocoa is a food made from roasted and ground cocoa seeds — available as a liquid, solid, or paste, either on its own or as a flavouring agent in other foods.
Chocolate is consumed by individuals of all ages — a snack loved by everyone worldwide. It is one of the most popular food types and flavours in the world, with many foodstuffs involving chocolate: desserts including cakes, pudding, mousse, chocolate brownies and chocolate chip cookies. Many candies are filled with or coated with sweetened chocolate, and chocolate bars — either made of solid chocolate or other ingredients coated in chocolate — are eaten as snacks.
Previously, chocolates were seen with standard shades of brown — the basic pure colour of cocoa seed or cocoa powder. Over time, to attract children of all ages, chocolates began to be coloured with edible colours to give them a better look and feel. Today, the Chocolate Painting Booth has become an essential requirement for cake and chocolate making facilities across India.
Autocoat is a 35-year-old company and has worked with most products and companies across industries. Due to our wide experience in painting and exhaust systems, we have been awarded many painting booths for chocolate spray painting — installed at leading chocolate and cake manufacturing factories at complete satisfaction of our customers.
Brush Painting vs Chocolate Spray Painting Booth
Older painting methods on chocolates and cakes were done with the help of a brush. This kind of painting of edible colours is a time-consuming task and does not give the required finish. Even today, the brush chocolate painting technique is used by smaller cake and chocolate vendors who do not have a spray booth for cocoa butter spraying.
Spray painted cakes give a rich feel when compared to hand-painted ones — the spray paint applied on the trays and molds gives an even surface and coat all over the area of the chocolates. The Chocolate Paint Booth in India is now being recognised as an important requirement for cake making facilities of all sizes.

Cake Paint Booth – Design & Features
A cake is a baked dessert that’s often topped with frosting or decorations. Cakes are a universal symbol of celebration, transcending cultural boundaries and time — their allure lies in their ability to transform ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, evoking joy and happiness in people across ages. Furthermore, with the rising adoption of western lifestyle and nutrition, demand for different types of cakes is increasing.
Every part of a cake is important — from taste to texture, style to presentation — but the most important is the visual appearance of the cake. As cakes are constantly photographed during ceremonies, it is necessary that the edible paint sprayed on the cake is beautifully crafted. Spray painted cakes give a rich feel when compared to hand-painted ones.
Autocoat Paint Booth for cakes & pastries is designed in such a way that large and small cakes, pastries can be painted with complete ease of work. It has sufficient space for the painting of cakes and the rotation of cake trays to give the chef a complete 360° view during painting. The exhaust blower with high suction capacity quickly captures all waste spray in no time, creating a clean and fresh environment for the painter and the cakes to be painted.

It is often observed that cake shops where there is no paint booth for cakes or a rightly selected exhaust — the rooms turn out to be sticky all over. The walls of the room are painted with the loose over-spray, making a bad, unhealthy and shabby environment for the user. Autocoat Engineering guides customers not only to select a proper spray booth but also to develop a DIY system for a clean room environment, painting staff culture, dust reduction and clean room culture.
Method of Painting – Chocolate Spray Painting Process
Painting of chocolates or spraying of cocoa butter is done in a very special way. Different molds made out of plastic — like ice trays — are cleaned thoroughly. These plastic molds are then taken to the Paint Booth for chocolate trays.
With the help of edible chocolate colours and a compressed air spray gun, the edible paint is sprayed on the inner cavities of the chocolate molds or trays. During this spraying operation, a mist or fog of waste cocoa butter spray is created — which is constantly exhausted by the Autocoat Painting Booth for chocolates.

Chocolate Paint Booth – Filtration & Exhaust System
Autocoat Paint Booth for chocolates consists of metallic powder-coated baffles which are able to restrict cocoa butter spray from going into the atmosphere through the exhaust — the over-spray butter sludge gets deposited on the metal baffles.
Even if some of the sprayed cocoa particles are able to escape the metal baffles, they get trapped onto the special mesh multi-layered filter situated in series with the metallic baffles. This secondary restriction takes additional care from letting loose spray dust into the atmosphere.
Finally, the cocoa butter loose liquid then gets collected in the inbuilt collection trough for easy sludge management — keeping the booth and the working environment clean and hygienic at all times.

Chocolate Spray Painting – Final Product Results
The paint sprayed on the trays and molds gives an even surface and coat on all over area of the chocolates. The Spray Booth for Cocoa Butter instant suction removes all spray dust and makes the environment clean for the continuation of production.
The chocolates and bonbons created in the chocolate paint booth give a very elegant and beautiful visual appearance — far superior in finish compared to brush-painted chocolates. Autocoat Engineering manufactures, assembles, numbers, tests and gives live trials to customers for their complete satisfaction before despatch.
