About Industrial Paint Booths
An Industrial Paint Booth is a specially designed, enclosed or semi-enclosed area used in a manufacturing or industrial setting for specific purposes such as painting, spraying, or other processes requiring a controlled environment. These booths are often used to protect workers and the environment from harmful fumes, overspray and dust.
Industrial spray booths are closed systems designed to apply paint coatings to metal, wood, plastic and other materials. Spray enclosures or Industrial Paint Booths are designed for a wide range of industrial, automotive and manufacturing needs.
Industrial booths are more firm and rigid than car paint booths — they are made from metal structural members and higher gauge sheet metal components. The sturdiness of these industrial booths can take care of not only the air quality inside the Industrial Paint Booth but also minor damages when accidentally hit by material handling devices.
Industrial Paint Booth Applications
Industrial Paint Booths are used in almost all sectors for painting of industrial goods. Industrial spray booths work very well when integrated with some kind of material handling system — the industrial paint booth handles the polluted spray smoke, while the material handling system handles the newly sprayed wet component for lifting, lowering and eye-level positioning for quick entry and exit of jobs to be painted. Integrated industrial painting increases productivity and is the best way to handle heavy components.
Autocoat is a 40-year-old company and has worked with most products and companies for painting and handling. Due to our experience across most painting and exhaust sectors, we have been awarded Industrial Painting Booth projects from the majority of industrial components manufacturers across India. Autocoat Engineering is constantly promoting modern technology in all kinds of product coating and metal finishing.
Autocoat Industrial Booth – Key Features
Autocoat’s Industrial Paint Booths incorporate the following proven design and engineering features:
- Heavy-Duty Metal StructureBuilt from metal structural members and higher gauge sheet metal — more rigid and firm than automotive booths, able to withstand material handling impacts.
- Material Handling IntegrationSeamlessly integrates with conveyor systems, monorail handling and slat conveyors for lifting, lowering and rotating heavy components.
- Wet Industrial Booth — Water SystemManual and quick-fill make-up water arrangements for continuous use. Critical during high-output spray painting for sludge control.
- Dry Industrial Booth — Multi-Layer BafflesMultiple layers of metal baffles to reduce running expenses of filter change — low recurring cost for dry type booths.
- Conveyorised Painting LinesDesigned, developed and manufactured conveyor motor painting for frame sizes 83 to 132+. Fast, economical and ideal for 3-shift production.
- Pollution Board CompliantAll Industrial Spray Booths are efficient and match Pollution Board norms. Training sessions conducted to educate painters for maximum productivity.
Why Spray Booth over Brush Painting?
Previous painting methods for industrial painting on mild steel sections or assembled steel components relied on local brush painting. This kind of painting is a time-consuming task and does not give the required finish — unnecessary higher DFT (dry film thickness) is observed, with unevenness and no proper surface finish.
Even today, factory painting or painting of industrial components is done using very crude painting techniques by smaller vendors who do not have an Industrial Spray Booth. Industrial Paint Booths in India are now recognised as an important requirement for good finishing technique, along with the spray painting method.
- Controlled environment — no dust or overspray contamination
- Uniform paint film thickness (DFT)
- High-quality, professional finish
- OSHA & Pollution Board compliant
- Integrates with material handling for productivity
- Suitable for high-volume 3-shift production
- Safe for painters — fumes & overspray exhausted
- Time-consuming, slow process
- Uneven and poor surface finish
- Unnecessarily high DFT — material wastage
- No pollution control — unregulated fumes
- Not suitable for production-scale painting
- Cannot meet ISO or OEM quality standards
- Risk of painter exposure to solvents
Industrial Booth – Sector Showcase
Here we showcase the various sectors where Autocoat has supplied Industrial Booths for painting of industrial components:

Industrial Motor Painting
Autocoat has supplied many Industrial Paint Booths for industrial motors and conveyorised motor painting lines, which run almost on a 3-shift basis trouble-free. We have designed, developed and manufactured conveyor motor painting for frame sizes from 83 to 132. Conveyorised industrial painting is very fast and economical.
Our Industrial Booth motor painting with monorail handling equipment for heavy motors and frame sizes above 132+ for HT motors enhances the painter’s capability to lift, lower and rotate heavy motors.

Industrial Booth for Regular Valves & Control Valves
Autocoat has developed Industrial Valve painting with monorail handling equipment for heavy valves. This method enhances the capability of the painter to lift, lower and rotate heavy valves. Our valve spray booths are very efficient and match Pollution Board norms.
Training sessions are conducted to educate painters and subordinates for maximum productivity and effective maintenance. Major clients from the valve industry include Inditec Valves, Fainger Valves, M&F Valves and many more.

Industrial Paint Booth for Engine Painting
Slat conveyor-based Industrial Paint Booth in India for engine painting — this method enhances the capability of the painter to lift, lower and rotate heavy engines. Our factory painting engine spray booths are very efficient and match Pollution Board norms.
Training sessions are conducted for maximum productivity and complete satisfaction of the end user, ensuring consistent finish quality across all engine types.
Wet & Dry Industrial Booths
Autocoat manufactures both Wet and Dry type Industrial Paint Booths. The right choice depends on paint consumption levels, component size and production volume:

Our Wet Industrial Booths are comprised of manual and quick-fill make-up water arrangements. These make-up water arrangements play an important role during continuous use of the spray booth, maintaining consistent water levels for effective overspray capture. Our Dry Industrial Booths are included with multiple layers of metal baffles to reduce the running expenses of filter change significantly.
Industrial Booth Types – Comparison
| Feature | Dry Industrial Booth | Wet Industrial Booth |
|---|---|---|
| Overspray Capture | Multi-layer metal baffles & filters | Water wash via tank system |
| Paint Consumption | Low to medium | High / mass production |
| Filter / Running Cost | Low — multi-layer baffles reduce filter cost | Water & sludge management cost |
| Civil Work Required | Minimal | Moderate — water tank & drainage |
| Make-up Water System | Not required | Manual & quick-fill arrangements |
| Material Handling | Conveyor / Monorail compatible | Conveyor / Monorail compatible |
