Paint Drying Oven, Paint Curing Oven
& Paint Baking Oven – Autocoat Engineering
Autocoat Engineering is India’s most experienced Paint Heating Oven manufacturer — supplying Paint Drying Ovens, Paint Curing Ovens and Paint Baking Ovens with electrical, gas, oil and steam heating since 1985. Based in Thane, Maharashtra.

About Paint Drying Ovens
Paint Drying Ovens — also referred to as Dryers, Paint Curing Ovens or Paint Baking Ovens — remove moisture from water-based coatings and adhesives. Paint Drying Ovens also remove water from the surface or interior of products with the help of thermostatic controls in the case of electrical heating, and temperature controllers operating solenoid valves in the case of steam, gas and oil heating.
An Industrial Paint Curing Oven cures and dries the paint through heated air that is recirculated inside the oven chamber. This is generally done by having a heating chamber where air is heated and the heated air is circulated inside the Paint Curing Oven chambers by means of fans — ensuring uniform, consistent heat distribution across the entire oven interior.
Autocoat Engineering is the most experienced Paint Heating Oven Manufacturer in India since 35 years — manufacturing superior quality paint drying ovens with wide experience across different material handling configurations, different product sizes and different production volumes.
Why Use a Paint Drying Oven?
The provision of a Paint Drying Oven in a production shop ensures five key benefits:
Speeding Up Drying Operation
Accelerated heat drying replaces slow air drying — dramatically reducing the time between painting and the next production step, improving throughput and floor space utilisation.
Improved Product Quality
Controlled temperature and uniform heated airflow ensure consistent, high-quality paint film formation — eliminating defects caused by irregular air drying conditions.
Increased Product Durability
Staving in a Paint Drying Oven at the correct temperature significantly improves the hardness, adhesion and corrosion resistance of the paint film — extending product life.
Economising Paint Costs
Switching from air-drying paints to enamel paints (used with ovens) can improve finish quality and reduce paint costs — an important economic benefit for high-volume operations.
Dust-Free Product
Inside the enclosed oven environment, freshly painted products are protected from airborne dust and contaminants during drying — delivering a cleaner, defect-free final surface.
Consistent Quality Year-Round
Unlike air drying, which is affected by seasonal humidity and monsoon conditions, a Paint Drying Oven maintains the same controlled temperature and drying conditions throughout the year.
Paint Drying Oven Heating Types
Autocoat manufactures Paint Drying Ovens with four heating options — each suited to different energy availability and production requirements:
Electrical Heating Oven
Thermostatic temperature controlTemperature is automatically maintained at a pre-determined level using thermostatic controls — precise, clean and easy to operate.
- Precise thermostatic temperature control
- No fuel storage or supply lines required
- Clean, flameless heating method
- Suitable for small to medium oven sizes
- Low maintenance — no burner servicing
Gas Fired Heating Oven
Temperature controller + solenoid valveTemperature is controlled via temperature controllers operating solenoid valves — economical running cost for larger ovens and high-volume production.
- Temperature controller + solenoid valve control
- Economical operating cost for large ovens
- Suitable for LPG or natural gas supply
- High heating capacity available
- Popular for continuous conveyor oven lines
Oil Fired Heating Oven
Temperature controller + solenoid valveOil burner heating with temperature controllers and solenoid valves for reliable, high-output heating — suited to facilities with existing oil infrastructure.
- High thermal output for large oven chambers
- Suitable where gas supply is unavailable
- Automatic temperature regulation
- Ideal for heavy industrial applications
- Robust and proven heating method
Steam Heating Oven
Temperature controller + solenoid valveUses steam supply with temperature controllers and solenoid valves for uniform, safe and explosion-risk-free heating — ideal for solvent-heavy applications.
- Safe for solvent-laden oven atmospheres
- Very uniform heat distribution
- No open flame — reduced fire risk
- Suitable for existing steam plant facilities
- Excellent temperature stability
Paint Drying Oven – Design Process
The design of a Paint Drying Oven is determined by many factors. Autocoat Engineering carefully evaluates all of the following before finalising every oven design:
-
1Total Heating CapacityCalculated based on oven volume, component mass, paint type and required temperature rise to ensure adequate heat input.
-
2Shape of Object to be DriedThe shape and size of the component determines oven chamber dimensions, airflow direction and conveyor or trolley configuration.
-
3Type & Thickness of InsulationAdequate insulation thickness is selected to minimise heat loss and maintain oven temperature with the lowest possible energy consumption.
-
4Exhaust ArrangementProper exhaust is provided to safely remove solvent fumes generated during drying — ensuring operator safety and pollution compliance.
-
5Burner & Heater LocationArrangement of burners and heaters is designed to ensure uniform heating across the entire cross section and length of the Paint Drying Oven.
-
6Correct Staving TemperatureThe right type, size and staving temperature combination is selected to achieve the specified paint hardness, adhesion and durability for each product.
Paint Drying Ovens by Autocoat are generally constructed out of mild steel sheets with strengthening members and supports on the outside wall, and aluminium sheets on the inside wall — with an adequate thickness of insulation in between. This sandwich construction ensures structural rigidity, excellent heat retention, low energy consumption and a long service life.
