Truck Paint Booth | Bus Paint Booth
& Railway Coach Paint Booth – Autocoat
Autocoat Engineering has been manufacturing Truck Spray Booths, Trailer Paint Booths, Bus Body Paint Booths and Railway Coach Paint Booths for almost 35 years — with versatile water wash downdraft and dry downdraft designs for large vehicle painting. Based in Thane, Maharashtra since 1985.

Truck Paint Booth & Trailer Spray Booth
Large spray booths are mainly a necessity for painting large workpieces like trucks, trailers and buses. India is a growing and booming market for all kinds of products — and the transportation industry consistently sees high demand for manufacturing trucks, trailers and buses.
About 30 years back, Indian economy was not so fast-moving and the trucks manufactured during those times did not necessarily require the quality standards as strict as the present day. The requirement of paint finish also prospered with the high demand for trucks and transport vehicles. Previously the concept of a dedicated Truck Paint Booth was not necessary and most trucks and trailers were painted in the open without a trailer spray booth.
As years passed and collaboration of transportation industries with European and Japanese industries changed the mindset of routine painting methods, surface preparation for truck body parts became a must to pass the quality checks of foreign markets. India being on the equator line always faces all four seasons including monsoons of almost 4 months. If surface preparation and pretreatment of truck body parts is neglected, paint adhesion will be a serious problem — and even worse will be the corrosion.
Truck Body – 3 Major Parts
The truck body is divided into three major parts — each requiring a separate painting booth or painting line depending on the capacities required. Every part goes through a series of surface preparation — either chemical-based pretreatment or shot blasting — to ensure the truck body is free from oil and rust before painting in the truck spray booth:
Chassis & Underbody Parts
Heavy corrosion-prone structures requiring pretreatment and anti-corrosion painting in dedicated booths.
Front Cabin
The driver’s cabin body requiring finish-quality painting with proper surface preparation before final coat.
Plastic Parts
Bumpers, panels and trim parts requiring flexible paint systems applied in controlled spray booth conditions.
The paint used for truck painting is very thick — therefore it is always recommended to go for Autocoat’s Truck Spray Booth water type downdraft booth. Our trailer paint booths with water model can handle almost any kind of paint and any paint quantity in litres. The paint sludge removal solutions attached with our truck paint booths work as a fast solution to cleaning and maintenance of the paint booth.

Bus Paint Booth & Bus Body Spray Booth
As the necessity of paint booths for trucks and trailers grew, so did the parallel growth in bus manufacturing. Human commuting traffic and public transportation are becoming an everyday concern. Due to high demand, many private non-government companies are constantly introducing new and latest luxury buses — which are very stylish and designed for maximum comfort during travel.
Therefore, the painting and paint finishing of these buses must be very clean and ultra-finished. Autocoat, along with its tie-up counterparts from China, has introduced many models of specialised bus paint booths in India. These bus body spray booths are able to give a very clean environment in the painting area with a very low dust count of 5 to 10 micron level — depending on the paint finish required.

Bus Body Paint Booth – Specialty Features
Autocoat Bus Body Paint Booths are engineered with seven specialty features not found in standard spray booths:
- iSeparate Waste Paint Extraction Chambers on both sides of the spray booth (depending on model) — ensuring efficient overspray capture from the full length of the bus body.
- iiSeparate Blowers for Extraction Exhaust — dedicated blowers performing exhaust work ensure consistent negative pressure and effective overspray removal throughout the painting cycle.
- iiiSeparate Blowers for Air Replenishment — an air supply unit provides equal quantity of fresh air as that exhausted, maintaining balanced pressure and a clean painting environment inside the booth.
- ivSeparate Filter Zones for Incoming Air — incoming air from outside passes through filter zones before entering the air supply chamber, plus a separate set of ceiling filters up to 5–10 micron dust level before air enters the painting room.
- v3 Rows of Paint Arresting Filters — with grills for easy maintenance and filter replacement, ensuring effective capture of all paint overspray particles in the exhaust stream.
- viComplete Built-In Heating Facility — since a bus cannot be shifted to a separate drying area after painting, Autocoat bus body paint booths have complete heating facility built in for paint baking immediately after the painting operation.
- vii3-Axis Painter Platforms — moveable platforms that can travel lengthwise, height-wise and width-wise in short portions. These platforms not only increase painting efficiency inside the bus spray booth but are also capable of handling rework operations and reduce operator fatigue.
Bus Paint Booth Heating Options
Autocoat Bus Body Paint Booths are available in all three types of heating system — chosen to match your facility’s energy supply and production requirements:

Railway Coach Paint Booth & Metro Train Painting
India is the fastest-growing market in the world — from automobiles to home appliances, energy-saving products to power generators — and there is always a need for faster, high-capacity transportation systems. Railways are always considered the highest-efficiency transportation system, capable of carrying large amounts of goods and human traffic with the lowest fuel requirement per unit.
In addition to standard railways, Metro trains, Monorail trains and Bullet trains (high-speed railways) have been introduced in India. In many cities, monorail trains and metro trains are already in active use — driving demand for specialised railway coach painting facilities.

Autocoat Engineering has been fortunate to be a part of the metro train painting line. Autocoat has supplied Railway Coach Paint Booths to companies for the painting of metro train faces, which are made of fibreglass body. The railway spray booths supplied by Autocoat are also used for the painting of interior bodies of railway and metro trains — made out of plastic or FRP sheets with the use of gel coats, then painted in different colours in paint booths supplied by Autocoat.
Railway Coach Booth – Key Features
Built-In Heating Technology
Built-in heating in Autocoat railway coach booths plays an important role in drying plastic paints as soon as the painting operation is completed — no separate drying area needed.
Dust-Free Painting Environment
The dust-free setup inside the paint booth enhances the quality of the dried paint and reduces rework activities caused by dust and overspray contamination on freshly painted surfaces.
Metro Train Face & Exterior Painting
Specialised large booths engineered for painting the fibreglass faces of metro and monorail train cars — with appropriate dimensions and airflow for the large curved surfaces.
Interior Body & Gel Coat Painting
Railway and metro interior bodies — made from plastic or FRP sheets — are painted with gel coats and coloured finishes in Autocoat-supplied booths, ready for direct assembly with the train body.
